• Question: Do male or female mosquitoes bite people?

      Both feed from humans. Mostly it is the female that bites people and spread diseases like malaria though. THis is probably something to do with the malaria parasite.

      It’s the females I’m afraid. They’re not doing it to hurt you though, but to help get the protein and iron they need for their eggs. They’re doing their job of being a mother.

      Male and female mosquitos mostly eat nectar from flowers, same as bees and butterflies.
