Question: is it true the earth was one big platte when the earth was first formes and now it has laodes of plates

The earth was always made up of tectonic plates floating on the magma of the earth’s core. THe land bits started all joined up but over time the plates have moved, with the land attached and so over time the separate land masses emerged. THat’s why we have similar looking animals on different continents – all animals started in the same place, but eventually ended up on the other side of the world!
