a chest wound is more likely to hit a vital bit of lung or heart and kill you. but a leg wound can kill you if it hits a major artery and you lose a lot of blood.

You can die very easily from being stabbed anywhere. Mostly this is because of bleeding – there are large blood vessels all over the body that can bleed lots. Damage to lungs as well is very very bad. Sometimes people survive the immediate attack and die later because of infection or air getting into the blood, or because even though the person was resuscitated, too much damage was done due to the lack of blood pressure at the time of the attack. THat’s why people can go to prison for murder even if the person dies, sometimes months later.
Above all carrying knives is a bad idea because research has shown you’re more likely to get stabbed yourself, or use it and end up in prison for a long, long time feeling very very bad.
