      It would be unlikely that any plants could survive on Mars as it is too cold, there isn’t any liquid water available and the thin atmosphere lets through a lot more UV rays then the earth’s atmosphere, which would make plants very sick if it didn’t kill them. But NASA are trying to engineer plants that can grow in the cold and are UV resistant so that when astronauts do go to Mars they can take the plants with them to provide food, medicines, oxygen and clean up their waste.
