Mostly as part of a team. The individual experiments I do alone and try to work out what this means. We then all meet up and discuss this along with other experiments to decide what to try next. The three senior people in the team are Profs – two of science and one of medicine – they keep me in check!

I’m the boss of a small team of 5 of us. It is great to have other people to work with and talk about my work with, and it is much more productive than working alone.

Both, some of my project work I do alone, but most of my work I do as part of a team. It is good to have the input of other scientists. I also have people who work for me which I enjoy because I like to support others.

In science and engineering, as part of a team. Now as a writer and journalist I need to do the writing myself, but most days I’m out chatting to people and finding out what they’ve been doing.
