      I wanted to be a pilot when I was really young, but other than that I have always wanted to do something in science.

      No I haven’t, when I was a kid I wanted to be a pilot and fly jets, then I wanted to be a chef. What I have always done is been inquisitive about the world around me, which I think is why I enjoyed science at school and then decided to do it at university, and then a PhD and then a postdoc.

      I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. Since being a doctor I’ve wanted to be a doctor AND a scientist!
