there are jobs that don’t require science, but a lot of science is just about thinking clearly and evaluating the evidence in front of you fairly. so that is useful in most jobs.

No, you can be good at other things. Lots of people in good jobs aren’t good at science.

Passing an exam or two in science won’t do you any harm though. And I would like to see more people in other jobs who at least aren’t scared of science – even if they’re not great at it.

That’s why I do my website Real Science. And why I think I’m a Scientist is so great.

It gets young people like you chatting to scientists and realising science is something everybody can get something out of – even if they don’t do it for a living.

Good luck with your job, whatever it turns out to be.

I suppose science tells you lots of things. A good exam mark for an employer tells them –
      – that you can learn, understand and remember information and reproduce this knowledge in an exam.
      – that you understand some important fundamental things about life and the world we live in
      – that you can apply yourself and concentrate on something.

So if you have a good science mark then this is bound to look good to an employer. There are of course though, plenty of people in jobs that really don’t like science.
