No I didn’t unfortunately. Life gets in the way of science sometimes, and I needed to earn money to bring up the kids.
I did think about going back and doing A PhD once they were grown up. But by then I’d done so much research and development in industry that I wouldn’t have learned much about how to do research. It would just have been for the pleasure and the qualification.
You can do a part-time PhD while you’re working. But they take 5 years. And you don’t have much time for the people in your life while you’re doing it, someone told me who’d done one.
