The main pests that affect most plants are either nematodes, little worms that burrow into plant roots, and insects that lay their eggs on plants and when the baby insects (called larvae) hatch they burrow into the plant. These pest are directly responsible for damaging a plant and reducing it’s ability to grow, other pests that can cause a problem are aphids that suck sap out of the plants, if there are enough of them they can stop the plant from growing well but the main problem with aphids is that they can introduce diseases to the plant they feed on.
